A Clean House is a Sign of a Wasted Life!

This image cracks me up!

This image cracks me up!

Recently, I wrote an article on what I wanted to do for Spring Cleaning. I took a good, hard look at my house & decided that the best way to get the whole abode under control was to tame my craft room! xD

I can’t post the article on here for contractual reasons, but I can provide a link to it, if you’re interested?

I’m actually in the process of tackling that mess of a room, so I’ll be sure to post pictures of it’s stunning glory once I’m finished!!

Cheers!

How do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways…

(Warning: bit of a long post!)

I’ve been having a bit of a creative “stump” lately, as I call it. I’m stumped! I’m not sure what to do, where to go, or if any of it really matters. I have so many ideas buzzing in my head that it’s hard to write them all down– I can only tackle one at a time, but it’s difficult & I get side-tracked easily! BUT I do know one thing: I love stuff. I’m not talking about the obvious, important things, like family, friends, &c. I mean tangible things. Collectible things. Those “Look-what-I-have-isn’t-it-so-cute?” things! The reason I mention this is because I think that if I can write down my favourite stuffs, I can find ways to turn them in to something creative, to inspire myself again! Huzzah!

With that rambling bit of not-so-much-nonsense out of the way, I’d like to list my top 10 favourite “things” that I love, that aren’t ooey-gooey stuff like my sweetie or my dog or my family.

Memorial Day 2013

I hope that this post finds everyone well, & I hope you’ve all had a pleasant & enjoyable Memorial Weekend. As we spend today with our friends & families, I’d just like to take a moment to say that regardless of your political beliefs, affiliations, or any of those lovely freedoms we’re given in speech, I am very, incredibly grateful to have been given this opportunity in this life to be an American.

Regardless of what your nationality, I’d like to take a moment to remember all fallen heroes — worldwide– who have died in the line of duty.

In the United States we take this day to remember those who have fallen serving & protecting our country & our freedoms, & I’d like to say “thank you” to you all, whether you’re a Veteran, a current Soldier, or now at peace, your courage & bravery will never be forgotten, & your sacrifices never taken for granted.

Happy Memorial Day all, & sweet dreams.

Geek soap?!

Germs! GERMS! Everywhere!!!
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty picky about soaps I use. I don’t like additives, & I prefer soap that smells pleasant — not that overwhelming stuff that gives you a headache on one whiff! I also like my soap to make my skin feel pleasing, not raw or oily… yeaugh!

I’ve decided to try out a new endeavor, something that will not only be fun, but that I can add a little twist of my own creativity to! Geeky-themed soap! I’m so excited at all of the possibilities! Just think of all the geek-related types of soap I can make– with all natural ingredients, to boot! I already made a few soaps last week, using some plain jane molds, and after using them, they smell & feel fantastic! I’m so pleased. I also made my first geek soap!! It’s SO CUTE! It’s a robot!!

Robot Soap created by 2 Geeks & a Grandma

Isn’t he just ADORABLE!!! Squee! He’s made using Goat’s Milk, lavender extract, sweet pea extract, and the little specks you see are actually crushed jasmine flowers picked fresh from the front yard! (No pesticides!!!) The lather is suprising, too!– I didn’t expect it. Normally, if you have a soap that’s super lathery, it means one of many types of additives has probably been added. Natural soap should have a lather of it’s own, due to an increase in surface tension when you rub the soap bar between your hands, but it’s not usually an excessive, foaming sort of lather! Luckily, this bar had a nice feel to it, a lovely, light lather, & it left my hands feeling like baby skin– so soft & so clean! ^____^

I’m going to be making loads more tonight! Not all robots, either!! Oh, just wait until you see all the fun things I have planned! 😀
I’ll keep you all updated!

Cheers!
