Good morning, everyone!! It’s been an exhausting week, so I apologise that I haven’t had time lately to get on the blogosphere. 😦 Luckily, I’ve resolved to try posting at least thrice a week, if not more! I think Tuesdays for certain will work, now for the rest of the week… any suggestions?
Speaking of Tuesdays, it’s that time again!! Treasury Tuesday! This week’s theme is a personal favourite of mine: r0b0ts!! [bzzt! beep! bzz!]
In case you weren’t aware of the intimate love I hold for our cold friends, here’s my absolute favourite painting I have ever created, based on a character from the children’s book I’m writing.
His name is Wrig, the Wrenchbot.
I have an undying passion for those cute, clunky guys. 😀 though, I’m sure we all do, yes?? With that thought, I figured it’d be a stellar idea to have a robot themed treasury post. All of my treasuries have distinct themes, but this is one of my favourite. I’d also like it noted that I try to update the treasuries often, so once an item sells, I’ll add new items — usually trying to put in another items from the same featured artists, if possible. If they don’t have another item that fits the theme (or the same, in the case of prints) I’ll look up another item. I’d also like it noted that I do not just create these slap-dash, willy-nilly, like some people…. I go beyond the first page (usually all of them, but it depends on the theme) & I use more than generic terms to search.
Choo-Choooo!!! It’s the Robot Express,
Whisking you away to the best of the best
of gadgets and gizmos, metal and gears;
Find a friend to love you for years!
One ticket good for you & a guest,
All aboard the Robot Express!!
My apologies for the lack of updates today… I’ve been bedridden with a severely sore throat, congestion, coughing, the works. 😦 I’m sipping some green tea with a spot of honey now, so it feels a bit better at the moment.
My day has not been entirely unproductive, however! I began working on an embroidered bag, until I grew exhausted. I managed to beat level 65 of Candy Crush (FINALLY!) — It only took about a month. Sheesh…. I love that game, but I hate that game. Now I’m just waiting for FaceBook friends to lend a hand so that I may pass to the next section.
In other news, those geeky soaps I’ve been working on were finished earlier this week & are curing now.
Now that I’m feeling a bit better — at least enough to sit up, haha! — I’ve been painting another robot themed work. This one is sort of a robotic take on the art nouveau style, sort of steam punkish, if you will.
Here’s a teensy preview 😉
Before I got suddenly sick yesterday, I had made a fantastic birthday card & birthday button for my favourite co-worker, Mrs. Debbie. She seemed quite pleased with them!! She’s very in to flowers, so I used a photo I had taken of a rose from the Ft. Worth botanical gardens & then added “kawaii” graphics using the Pri Pri Marron app. (Even though the graphics themselves aren’t of my own design, I’m still the one who “composed” the layout & design, so I’m totally allowed to still take pride in it! xD ) Here’s what I came up with:
And here is the adorable button!
(I got excited & made the button part before letting the glue fully dry…whoops!)
(Cough-cough!) Okay…I should finish my tea & rest more.
I’ve been having a bit of a creative “stump” lately, as I call it. I’m stumped! I’m not sure what to do, where to go, or if any of it really matters. I have so many ideas buzzing in my head that it’s hard to write them all down– I can only tackle one at a time, but it’s difficult & I get side-tracked easily! BUT I do know one thing: I love stuff. I’m not talking about the obvious, important things, like family, friends, &c. I mean tangible things. Collectible things. Those “Look-what-I-have-isn’t-it-so-cute?” things! The reason I mention this is because I think that if I can write down my favourite stuffs, I can find ways to turn them in to something creative, to inspire myself again! Huzzah!
With that rambling bit of not-so-much-nonsense out of the way, I’d like to list my top 10 favourite “things” that I love, that aren’t ooey-gooey stuff like my sweetie or my dog or my family.
Germs! GERMS! Everywhere!!!
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty picky about soaps I use. I don’t like additives, & I prefer soap that smells pleasant — not that overwhelming stuff that gives you a headache on one whiff! I also like my soap to make my skin feel pleasing, not raw or oily… yeaugh!
I’ve decided to try out a new endeavor, something that will not only be fun, but that I can add a little twist of my own creativity to! Geeky-themed soap! I’m so excited at all of the possibilities! Just think of all the geek-related types of soap I can make– with all natural ingredients, to boot! I already made a few soaps last week, using some plain jane molds, and after using them, they smell & feel fantastic! I’m so pleased. I also made my first geek soap!! It’s SO CUTE! It’s a robot!!

Isn’t he just ADORABLE!!! Squee! He’s made using Goat’s Milk, lavender extract, sweet pea extract, and the little specks you see are actually crushed jasmine flowers picked fresh from the front yard! (No pesticides!!!) The lather is suprising, too!– I didn’t expect it. Normally, if you have a soap that’s super lathery, it means one of many types of additives has probably been added. Natural soap should have a lather of it’s own, due to an increase in surface tension when you rub the soap bar between your hands, but it’s not usually an excessive, foaming sort of lather! Luckily, this bar had a nice feel to it, a lovely, light lather, & it left my hands feeling like baby skin– so soft & so clean! ^____^
I’m going to be making loads more tonight! Not all robots, either!! Oh, just wait until you see all the fun things I have planned! 😀
I’ll keep you all updated!
